Stands
I designed these stands after seeing the need. These stands are extremely versatile. One can simply use them at home for your own enjoyment. Just a slight shift of your weight on your feet and you have moved up or down the fingerboard several inches. Your tummy does not get in the way when you are up around the tenth fret. The bottom is free to vibrate so your instrument is louder. These stands are great for teaching also, as the teacher can get above the students. And they are particularly valuable in performance. They only weigh eight pounds and are quite stable once the instrument is clamped in it. They fit most dulcimers. The tiny dulcimers or highly unusually shaped ones might require some augmentation, but that is possible also. I make them in bunches of about twenty. My basic thrust is to build dulcimers… so bear with me on the availability of these stands. I will make every effort to keep up with my orders, but this is hard to do when I really want to keep up with my dulcimers orders. They do not fold as a folding mechanism that is good and stable would be very costly to produce, however, they come into five simple pieces that will fit into a 3” by 6” by 36” box or bag. I will ship them in a box of the size just mentioned. You can make your own carrying bag. Assembly only takes seconds. They adjust forty ways to Sunday. You can adjust the tilt from end to end and side to side. One end can be higher than the other. They are not well suited for sitting in a standard chair while playing, but with a 24” stool you can easily do that. Most people who have purchased them have found more uses for these stands than they would have ever imagined.
