Introduction

My dear friends and clients, recent circumstances have made it necessary for me to no longer take orders for dulcimers. I deeply regret this, but I feel that I must do this at this point in my life. I will continue to try to fill the orders that I already have, but will take no new orders. However, I will be continuing to make dulcimers. They will be built with the same love, care, and attention to detail that all of my dulcimers have shared. I will continue to build “user friendly” dulcimers… that is… they will have reasonable volume, pleasant tone, easy playing action, easy to tune critically, easy to change strings, and can be shifted from the three string configuration to four equally spaced strings in a heart beat. I very much wish my instruments to be recognized as a serious musical instrument… on a par with guitars, mandolins, violins, and not as “folk toys.”

Whenever I complete a new dulcimer, I will post it here on the “Recent Instrument” page, along with a little info on this instrument. I will be building as I see fit at the time… some fancy, some plain, some“ concert models,” some “chamber models,” and yes, some “bamjamated dulcimers.” The first person that expresses an interest in that dulcimer is likely the one that will wind up purchasing it.

To help one understand the dulcimer… it would be helpful if you clicked on the “Definitions.” This may help dispel much confusion when discussing the dulcimer.
