Hello and welcome to my storm chasing web page. My name is Steve Peterson and I am a storm chaser from Nebraska. I have been interested in severe weather ever since an F4 tornado missed my families home north of Gothenburg, NE by about a mile. The date was June 8, 1975 and even though I was just a few months shy of 5 years of age, I still remember that day vividly. I started "chasing" if you could call it that in 1990, mostly shooting lightning video and local storms around home. The Spring of 1993 was when I begin to forecast and travel long distances to chase storms. By the mid-90's, I chased the Central Plains whenever I had the chance. Since then I have learned a great deal and met many good friends along the way. Because I do a majority of my chasing in Nebraska and the Central Plains, you will find that most of my web pages and links below are related to chasing in this area.
