COMMUNICATIONS:  None received.

TREASURER’S REPORT:  Treasurer Rose Anne Johnson reported on the income and expense statements for December 2007.  The checkbook balance as of 31 December 2007  is $26,226.24.

FUNDRAISERS:  Zap-a-snack started 4 Jan 08.  Volunteers have come forward to help tally the orders.  The delivery was explained as well as how to come to SMCMS to pick up the orders.  The orders come prepackaged.  We get a profit of 35% then an additional 3% for prizes.  We opted for gift cards instead of the limo ride this year.

Jill Kaul stated that she only received approximately 40 volunteer forms back.

Diane Seeyle stated that about 20% of the school population are not participating in the fundraisers nor have they sent in the $250.00 requested of them to opt out.  We are just asking everyone to please do “their fair share”.  We are further behind in fundraising at this time than we were last year.

CHRISTMAS STORE:  No representative was present but Diane Seelye stated that it went well again this year and that we even made a small amount of money.

OLD BUSINESS:  Ann Caskey talked about the grocery certificates and about selling them at Bilo.

GOOD OF THE ORGANIZATION:  Mary Meyer from the development office reported on the endowment challenge.  She stated that we have 1.3 million dollars in the fund now.  There is a couple that is willing to match any donation up to one million dollars for our schools.  At the 18 April 2008 dinner at the Red Fern the name of the couple will be announced.  The schools are holding a dime drive from January to April so that the students can participate.

Mrs. Marshall reported on the Middle states evaluation and how well we fared.  She also explained the Stanford test results and how we as parents can better read and understand them.

Tuition Voucher Award:  Lucy Mosebarger

Teacher Award:  Laura Kuntz

Next Meeting:  12 March 2008   Internet safety will be discussed

Meeting Adjourned:  8:30 pm
