I can't test all solutions possible because I don't know them all and there are not enough hours in the day/week/month/year for me to test every combination possible. I have tested/used these configurations/software and they work for me. I am just letting my findings be open to help others in times of need at no cost. If you do not understand these instructions/configurations/software or are afraid that you will mess up the computer/router/equipment/software then you will want to contact a computer/network technician to help fix/configure/build what you need done.
With The Efficient Networks SpeedStream router, it is possible to avoid the use of NAPT with PPPoA addressing schemes, such as currently used by the Alltel Internet. Using the new PPTP Relay feature of the 5660, it is possible to push the WAN ip address of the dynamic ip subscriber back to his or her PC. This is desireable in some instances, in order to promote compatibility with applications that use non-standard TCP/UDP ports, or applications that have problems with NAPT. Examples of such applications include multiplayer games, and VPN clients. The purpose of this page is to describe how this feature can be used with Alltel ADSL subscribers (with Alltel Internet service).

PPTP Relay support was recently added to the 5660's feature set. Subscribers wishing to take advantage of this feature should upgrade to the Software Version 2.3.0(2) or Higher. This can be located at:

To save space I have set decreased the size of the images, if you need to see the image in full size just click on them.
Click on the Start Button, select Settings then click on Control Panel
Once In Control Panel, double click into Add/Remove Programs.
Next select the Windows Setup tab.
In Windows Setup put a check into Virtual Private Networking, then hit OK on the next two screens. Once the files are installed let windows reboot. After the computer reboots back into windows you can proceed with the next step of VPN Setup.
