What to bring on a weekend campout
The following is a suggested list of items that a scout should bring on the Troops regular weekend campouts.
- Sleeping Bag
- Sleeping pad (air mattress, foam, etc.)
- some sort of pillow (spare clothes will work)
- Appropriate clothes and spares
- Coat/Jacket (according to weather conditions)
- Personal Hygene gear (toothbrush, etc.)
- Shoes (preferably boots with good support)
- Water Bottle(s)
- Bug Spray (non-aerosol)
- Sun screen
- Flashlight & Batteries (w/spare batteries & bulb)
- Compass
- Rain Gear
- Scout Handbook (in a ziplock to survive a rain)
- Pen/Pencil & paper
- Knife (only once Totin' Chit is earned)
- Camp chair (allowed but not necessary)
What NOT to bring on a weekend campout
The following is a list of items that a Scout should not bring on a campout
- Snack Foods (other than Friday night)
- Weapons/Firearms
- Fireworks of any kind
- Sling Shots
- Electronic Items (Radio, CD Player, Walkie-Talkie, etc.)
- Lighters/Matches
- Laser Pointers
- Sheath knife
- Cot (not allowed in tents due to soft floors)
