Back to the engine and tranny: a lot of cleaning detail is going on here. the wires have been individually removed and cleaned. The distributor has been cleaned as well. The transmission has been cleaned and is getting ready to be painted. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The water pump, alternator, and power steering pump have been removed from the front of the engine. All have been cleaned and/or repainted. The damper pulley is next to go! The block will be painted shortly. |

Here, the frame has been painted
in the finish coat; a semigloss black. These photos make the frame look
a little more glossy than it really is. If you look in the upper right-hand
corner, you can see the cab, sitting on blocks, covered in plastic.

You can see here that the
rear brake drums were not painted with the frame. i am going to spray
them red, along with the front brake calipers.

Here, the engine has finally
been disconnected from the tranny. The damper pulley has been removed.
I had the intention of painting the block, until I discovered a leaking
rear main seal.

Just a shot inside the engine.
While replacing the rear main seal, we also went ahead and installed a
new high volume oil pump... for good measure.

Well, this brings us our current
dilema. The engine bearings appear worn. Right now, we are checking the
all bearings and are looking to replace both main and rod bearings...
oh what fun!
