My Current Progress...

Well, after much effort, fabrication, and parts, I finally got my posi axle installed. It's from a '69 Chevelle SS, and was freshly rebuilt, prepped, and painted.
The main project with axle was the fabrication of the rear disc brakes - the brake components came from the rear of a 2001 Camaro SS.
I'm just using these rotor for the mach-up of the components - I couldn't let these rusty things ride on the back of this ride!
Here's a close up of the set up without the rotor.
While I was at it, I went ahead and installed new wheel studs, axle seals, and I picked up new brake pads, and rear hardware.
Aside from the rear axle, I also installed my gas filler and put on both bed steps. Although putting the steps on was a fairly simple task, routing the protective strip around it created an even more challenge, but the end result turned out great.
I hate to post a pic up of this, but here's the condition of my engine bay. I have my entire rear section wired up and loomed from the rear to the fuse box. I'm in the middle of getting everything routed and wiring up in the engine bay.
Since I swapped axles, my new axle has a different bolt pattern; 5x4.75. The only rims in my shop that would fit are the summer wheels for my daily driver... wow, those 40 series tires really look goofie!
I have a set of Cragar SS rims to go on the truck - the "unilug" design of the rims will fit both front and back. I'm putting 15x10's in the rear and 15x8 on the front - once I get the tires!
