Inter-Squad Radio government band radio service.
The ISR is intended to be used as a supplement to already in place government frequencies.
As you my well know, the use of FRS is illegal by government agencies.
However, was is a huge need for a low-range cost-effective communcations solution by government agencies
The NTIA created the ISR to fill that gap.
The USMC has already placed an order for 13,000 ISR radios and the Civil Air Patrol is close behind.
