Hell no, I ain't forgittin!

"Its my fondest wish, that some day, every American will get down on their knees and pray to God that some day they will have the opportunity to live in a Communist Society." ---Jane Fonda

In human terms at least, the war in Vietnam was a war that nobody won--a struggle between victims. Its origins were complex, its lessons disputed, its legacy still to be assessed by future generations. But whether a valid venture or a misguided endeavor, it was a tragedy of epic dimensions.

My First Antenna-- Telrex Tri-bander in an ice storm, 1959.

The KLM 20-Meter Big Stick @ 105' W/10 Meter Big Stick @ 115', and 10 Meter Big-stick @ 60'. (Notice Ice on tree, March, 1999.)(Also was Color Photo).

That sure doesn't look like a 58' boom but it is...Antenna were installed by W4FW & W4WT. We winched the 10M and the KLM 20M antenna up together--piggyback style.(approx weight 140 lbs.) We used a winch bolted to the tower and used a 3/8 drill motor where the crank would usually go. The winch had a 50:1 gear ratio and the thing went up easily..W4WT on the tower and W4FW on the ground..we had one other helper.

Sometimes it snows up here, but not a lot.(Also was a color photo). We did get 31" of snow in March, 1993. No ham radio-No electricity, no water, no heat, no telephone.
