Missy's Gymnastics Produced 3 USTA National Champions in Louisville

 

 

 

 

 

This prestigious event was held in Louisville, KY June 21st-25th at The Broadbent Arena.

Over 2000 athletes  from over 164 clubs Nationwide attended. Power Tumbling consist of 3 different events:

Trampoline, Double Mini Trampoline & Tumbling. There are several levels & age divisions in every event.

Many age groups had as many 80 athletes competing for the top position for each level.

 

 

Missy's Gymnastics was well represented with 21 of her 28 member team attending and ranging

in age from 3- 11 years old. The Team produced 3 National Champions with Lee Helton, (son of Mike &

Leeora Helton) winning the Sub-advanced boys trampoline  National Title.  Hunter Kinney (son of Keena

Norton & Greg Kinney) taking the 1st place National Title On Novice Boys Double Mini Trampoline.

Makayela Banks (daughter of John & Kathy Banks) finished out the Terrific Trio by taking the 1st place

on girls intermediate trampoline and scoring the only 9.0 score in her age group & level.

 

 

Missy's  also produced 2 National Team Titles with Edward Coomer (son of Allan & Barbie

Coomer) & Hunter Kinney winning 2nd place on the novice boys Trampoline & Novice Boys Double Mini.

 

 

Connie Woodcock & Amanda Ries spent endless hours @ the competition coaching these

great athletes.  They would like to thank all of the athletes on their team for working so hard. This is

Amanda’s first Nationals & she coached 2 National Trampoline Champions.  WAY TO GO AMANDA!!!

Ms. Connie Has been to several National & Has always came home with Champions. These 2 great

coaches are also assisted by Bridgett Blake & Allan Coomer.  Missy's athletes love their coaches dearly

and their hard work obviously has paid off.

 

 

 

In addition to the 3 National title Missy's had 11 other athlete (out of the 21 that  attended) placing

in the top 10. This is quite an accomplishment considering the amount of athletes they competed against.

 

Maris O'Shaughnessy placed 10th overall in Sub-Novice Tumbling

Molly Smith placed 5th overall on Novice Double Mini

Cheyenne Roberts Placed 9th overall in sub-novice Trampoline

Kathryn Alexander placed 7th over on Novice Double Mini

Olivia Ulrich placed 6th overall Beg. Double Mini

Peyton Coots Placed 2nd overall Beg. Double Mini'

Harley Byrd Placed 10th overall in Beginner Tumbling

Edward Coomer Placed 5th overall on Novice Trampoline & 8th overall on novice Double Mini

Cierra Coomer placed 8th overall Beg. Double Mini

Brianna Sullivan placed 3rd overall Beginner Double Mini

Elizabeth Valdez Placed 10th overall on Trampoline

 

 

 

 

In addition to their National titles Lee Helton also took 6th place averall on the Double Mini & 2nd place

overall on tumbling. Makayela Banks tied for 3rd place on the double mini trampoline.  Banks scored the

only near perfect score 9.9 score from the judges out of a field of over 253 athletes in the intermediate

level. She also had a 4th place overall in the  tumbling sub-novce level. Hunter Kinney also took 2nd

overall on the novice level trampoline.  Missy Keeton owner of Missy's Gymnastics Dance & Cheer would
