If I were running NIKON, I'd have someone in marketing monitoring this web site to get the feedback to improve the next product and keep my customers happy by being responsive to their wants and needs. I'm pretty sure, they are. They didn't get to be the best by not listening.

Or, Nikon will take pity on us and release their marvelous software to a third party to upgrade?

So, here's my wishes for the software upgrade (I'm sure they are working on).

3 different sets: Camera, 44 entries Info.txt, 16 entries and NikonView. 20 entries

Here's my take on them as best I can guess

I think you see where I'm going - Since the Camera has all that info I'd like it to stay with the image when I transfer it to my computer.

Can the bottom edge of each image be coded with the DateTime identification, kinda like what Kodak does on the slide holder? I'm going to try to add some to mine somehow. Some ID may already be a part of the image file? Wouldn't be terrible difficult to add a border to all images with the info embedded, would it?

Picture Identification option so that I can set it

Uniquely, consistently, precisely without equivocation! Even Movie frames!

For example: 04Mar0419250630. Explanation 04MAR04 = the 4th day of March the 4th year of this decade.

19250630 = the 19th hour, 25th minute, 6th second and 30th frame.

Are there other utilities available like the pixel test which I might find useful?

Again, Nikon has accomplished a wonderful product in the 5700. It is a great camera with a wealth of features that work great and stimulates one to be a better photographer.
