Susan GAFFNEY arrived in New York City about 1840 and met Patrick GAFFNEY some 10 years later, moved to Connecticut and raised their family. Susan may possibly be the person listed in the 1860 census in Bridgeport, CT. She would have been a widow at this point and is shown as being a house maid. She thereafter relocated to the Plattsburgh/Keeseville area which would have allowed Mary Ann to meet Dennis DEWEY, Martin's son, for their marriage in 1883, and also Eliza to meet her future husband, (?) Burleigh. It is probable that some of the McKILLIP settled in Franklin County first followed by the RYAN/DEWEY clan, then the FINNEGANs, TRACYs and lastly the O'NEILs. |
