Pardon Our Narcicism...
...but Some of You Asked to See the House and Property

The first sight of our place is over the fence and across our pasture as you go south on Highway 68 toward the Kentucky River. This pasture, just 2 years ago, was literally a swamp, calf-deep in mud, and infested with 8 foot thorn bushes and cane. It was cleared largely by hand!

Then, turning up our driveway, you see a pretty walnut grove on the left through which winds a nice little creek.

Here's a view from directly in front.

One reason for moving out here was to have a place to keep our horses. Duke (the black) and Chase (the Palomino) are more like puppies than horses!

In Kentucky, of course, we get snow. Below you see one of our horses, Duke, probably thinking that he ought to be in the barn and not out in the snow. And by the way, that stone fence was first constructed over 150 years ago and we didn't even know it was there until we cleared away all the brush and overgrowth. It needed some reconstruction, and the work was done using the authentic methods of the original builders.

Behind the house is about 5 acres of woods, and here is one of the many paths we've put through the woods.

I hope this little tour has not been an entirely nauseating display of narcicism! We're grateful for our new home, and look forward to sharing it with our friends and family who come to visit!
