Reverend Doc's Photo Gallery

My alias is "Reverend Doc" and you can read his story if you wish. The picture here is of my basic costume, and reveals a safety hazard as well, which I have eliminated by dropping the cross-draw holster in favor of "grips to the rear" on both sides. For those who care, I shoot Colt revolvers in 45 Colt or .44-40, a Uberti 1873 reproduction in .44-40 (what else??), and either a Stevens 235 Hammer Double with 30" barrels or a Winchester Model 1897, whatever the little voices in my head tell me! I usually shoot Duelist, but have enjoyed shooting Fontier Cartridge Duelist.

I love shooting with my family. My son, "Jessamine Creek Jack" has shot CAS with me from the beginning, and is partial to his 2nd Generation Colt SAA's in .357 and his Uberti Winchester 1873 Border Rifle. My daughter "Bad Boo" came on board last year, and shoots nickle-plated 38's with black pearlite grips! My wife "Angel Rider" shoots with us and keeps us all organized and happy. "Pekin Pike" is the youngest, but already has several matches, including Mule Camp 2003, under his belt, where he placed among the Junior Boys.

Here's the whole family perched on a wagon--from left to right, Zach (Jessamine Creek Jack), Angie (Angel Rider), myself, then in the back Lyman (Pekin Pike) and Hannah (Bad Boo). Obviously the wagon took us to the wrong place, since we ended up in front of the gallows!

Sometimes Reverend Doc has to spend a moment offering spiritual advice to the lost sheep.Pastoral care is very different when people are carrying guns...or are otherwise armed!

Here's Jessamine Creek Jack throwing down with the rifle and the pistol. Note the considered attention to get off a good shot.

To shoot fast, you have to take your time...quickly!

One part of the fun is fancy occasions, where everyone wears their best 19th century finery, other times on the range you're likely to see any kind of garb, from fancy to trail-worn. The hombre with Creek and me is none other than Horsefly, legendary clothier of discriminating cowboy shootists.

Here Pekin Pike breaks loose from the hangman at the gallows and throws down on the bad guys, taking a fine bead with the revolver and then sweeping the stage with the lever-gun. Whattaguy!

Family fun is the name of the game. Dancing with your lovely daughter--now that's fun!

Speaking of a lovely daughter, here's a nice shot of that ball gown, which has hoops and a bustle. But lest anybody thing she's just a helpless lady, note the revolver!

Bad Boo is also partial to that pretty 1866 lever gun. What is it about pretty girls and pretty guns? But now who's that dashing young stud with my wife? That's Jessamine Creek Jack

A wife who can do anything. She ropes, she shoots, but most of all...

... she makes me happy!
