Hi, By way of introduction: I was Nancy's room-mate back in 1957, in Arlington, Va. when we both worked for the government. My husband was courting me at the time. We all drove to Leechburg and enjoyed Thanksgiving at the Crawford home. Nancy and I have kept in touch over the years via letters, e-mails and visits. She's our "adopted sister." Tom and I visited the Nawrockis and the museum in 1997 and were very impressed. Your Rose of Sharon inspired us to plant two in our yard when we moved to Lincoln, Ca. I think of your museum (and Nancy) every time I look at 'em. Hope to visit again some day. I trust you know you've got a first class, outstanding President there. Give her a hug from Lisa and Tom.

I just found this site. My great grandfather owned the Leechburg Advance, my grandfather was Perry H. Wray (1885-1971) who moved to Gary, IN in 1915 to help start the electro-galvanizing division of the sheet and tin plant at the then new Carnegie-Illionis steel plant (now US Steel). He married Charlotte Cunningham, (1884-1961) daughter of R.A. Cunningham, the jeweler in town. They lived in Gary the rest of their lives. My dad always spoke fondly of Leechburg, and we went back to visit when I was a kid in the 60s. All the Wrays and Cunninghams are gone from Leechburg now. Great web site!

First I viewed your Web. site. It is great! I downloaded some info. to put in my binder with my Leechburg,Armstrong Co, PA genealogy. Called Sandy Ashbaugh's telephone number and reached her husband Robert who told me he will mail me some of their info. so I can figure out how we are related. I told him, they could have access to what I had already sent to the Museum. Thank you for your newsletter and the info. you have already sent to me. How do I go about getting photographs of the graves/and or tombstones of my ancestors? Can I pay for the film and developing? Thank you so very much. Joan pronounced "Jo Ann" Mother of four, grandmother of five and great grandmother of three.

Raised in Gillpin Twp. Went to Leechburg High School. My Grandfather owned and operated Stull's Remnant Shop. Was a member of Forks Church. Haven't lived in PA since I married in 1968. Both parents have past away but Mary Lou Bowser (sister) and (brother) David Farster still reside there. So good to read about folks from Leechburg and Gilpin.

Great site! My grandparents lived in Johnetta as did my mother and other 10 brothers and sisters. My grandparents were William and Martha Rimel My mother was Margaret who married Fred Ebbert of Hyde Park. My parents later moved to Apollo. My uncle, Lester (Short) Rimel was on the Leechburg Police Force there for many years. An Aunt of mine, Ruth Rimel married Philip Stegner. Both are gone now but they have daughters still there. I still visit there often and will be sure to visit your museum next time I'm down. I'm glad I found your site. Is there any way I can aquire photos of Johnetta? I have some handed down from my family but surely there must be some of the brick yard where my Grandfather worked in his early years before going to the steel mill.

Thanks, Ron
