I
found the names of my
great grandparents on
your website. Joseph
Miller Smith and Jennie
LaVerne Slagle Smith.
Their daughter Clara was
my grandmother. Couldn't
figure out my father's
middle name till
now.....'Miller' . I
have names (not
birthdates) of several
other children of Hoseph
and Jennie's. Contact me
if you're interested.

Hi,
By way of introduction:
I was Nancy's room-mate
back in 1957, in
Arlington, Va. when we
both worked for the
government. My husband
was courting me at the
time. We all drove to
Leechburg and enjoyed
Thanksgiving at the
Crawford home. Nancy and
I have kept in touch
over the years via
letters, e-mails and
visits. She's our
"adopted sister." Tom
and I visited the
Nawrockis and the museum
in 1997 and were very
impressed. Your Rose of
Sharon inspired us to
plant two in our yard
when we moved to
Lincoln, Ca. I think of
your museum (and Nancy)
every time I look at
'em. Hope to visit again
some day. I trust you
know you've got a first
class, outstanding
President there. Give
her a hug from Lisa and
Tom.

Had
to check out the site
given that I share a
name with the town's
founder. I'm originally
from the UK, but live in
Brooklyn, NYC. I'll have
to come out to Leechburg
one day.

I
just found this site. My
great grandfather owned
the Leechburg Advance,
my grandfather was Perry
H. Wray (1885-1971) who
moved to Gary, IN in
1915 to help start the
electro-galvanizing
division of the sheet
and tin plant at the
then new
Carnegie-Illionis steel
plant (now US Steel). He
married Charlotte
Cunningham, (1884-1961)
daughter of R.A.
Cunningham, the jeweler
in town. They lived in
Gary the rest of their
lives. My dad always
spoke fondly of
Leechburg, and we went
back to visit when I was
a kid in the 60s. All
the Wrays and
Cunninghams are gone
from Leechburg now.
Great web
site!

First
I viewed your Web. site.
It is great! I
downloaded some info. to
put in my binder with my
Leechburg,Armstrong Co,
PA genealogy. Called
Sandy Ashbaugh's
telephone number and
reached her husband
Robert who told me he
will mail me some of
their info. so I can
figure out how we are
related. I told him,
they could have access
to what I had already
sent to the Museum.
Thank you for your
newsletter and the info.
you have already sent to
me. How do I go about
getting photographs of
the graves/and or
tombstones of my
ancestors? Can I pay for
the film and developing?
Thank you so very much.
