Any organization or entity is welcome to become a sponsor of the ARP. Sponsors fund the program by contributing equal shares of the program costs. Costs include bounties on germ plasm, cost reimbursements to collectors, some overhead, some shipping costs, and support for the H. D. Thiers Herbarium at San Francisco State University [SFSU], where the ARP voucher specimens are housed. Program costs shares (per sponsor) have ranged from $100 to $500 per year, depending upon the number of samples received and distributed, and upon costs incurred. Overseas sponsors pay an additional $15 per year for international Express Mail (postal) shipping of cultures. |
