Sponsors receive the following benefits:

1. Subcultures of all new germ plasm samples received.  (However, note that samples of undesired organisms, including poisonous or uninteresting species of Agaricus, are generally not distributed).  Cultures are distributed within one year of receipt.
2. Identification of samples when possible, using morphological and genetic criteria.
3. Data on each sample, including geographical point of origin, habitat, date, and general comments about genetic novelty.
4. The right to use all ARP cultures without restraint (subject to the exceptions below), including the right to develop proprietary new strains and to seek and obtain Intellectual Property Right protections for any such inventions.

   Exceptions:

   1. No unmodified ARP strain is to be redistributed or resold
   2. No IPRs shall be sought for any unmodified ARP strain

Sponsorship is renewed voluntarily each winter.  For convenience, an invoice is sent along with information about samples awaiting distribution.  Cultures are distributed each spring.
