QRP Sprints
Several (many?) QRP clubs are conducting short (generally 2 hour) contests called sprints on various days of a week at various times. There are just too many of these for me to keep track of and list in my regular calendar. Also, except for the ARS sprints which occur regularly the first Monday evening of the month, there seems to be no regular schedule for these sprints. Still I know many of you enjoy the sprints and I feel I should do something about publicizing them. Hence this page. I will continue to list the ARS sprints in the calendar itself since the regular schedule they have is easy to maintain and update from month to month. Also I'll try to continue listing the longer sprints that occur on weekends and/or holidays. For the other clubs and their sprints, I am listing below a link to the club web site where you can find details about their sprints. As usual, the links will open in a new browser window so you can return here easily by closing that new window. If your club holds a sprint, and you are not listed here, please let me know, and I'll add it. Use the email link in the left column. 1. North American QRP CW Club - Various sprints emphasizing, but not limited to the use of straight keys and simple wire antennas. 2. Flying Pigs QRP Club - Truffle hunts, etc. 3. Alaska QRP Club - Ptarmigan hunts. 4. QRP Barbershop Contests - On a fifth Wednesday when a month has one. 5. QRP-L - Foxhunts announced on the QRP-L maillist. 6. Fox Hunts - Official Fox Hunt website. 7. SKCC - Not QRP, but the group promotes CW. 8. Spartan Sprints. - Not true contests any longer with no scoring. |
