I decided to try gliding. I discovered that there was a "not for profit" glider field not far from my house and they were offering introduction training flights for $100.
It is called Piedmont Soaring Society. This blue craft is a trainer and it was my ride for the first two flights. It's built and flys like a school bus so my rides in it were short but very nice.

Here is a look back at the air field. This was my third flight and I did this one in the orange plane. It's more efficient than the blue one and a little easier to fly. I don't have a better picture of it yet.
This is a single set plane that the club owns. If you get your license you can take this guy up.
This is a really nice high performance plane that a club member owns.
Oh well maybe some day.
