TOAD
--FREEDOM--

Toad leaps into your life to tell you to examine your freedom. Look around! Find where you are - physically, mentally and spiritually!
What are you doing at the moment Toad appears? He is telling you that what is around you at this moment may be something you are not accepting or failing to take advantage of for the freedom it supplies you -the freedom of a moment to escape, or the STARTING POINT of the rest of your life.
Toad brings the message that you may be missing an opportunity to recognize the freedom that could be yours.
Toad may be telling you that you risk becoming a "toady" to someone. Are you being a flunky or "yes man" to someone, at the expense of your own freedom and self-expression?
Toad warns you that someone may be threatening your freedom. This threat could be unreasonable surpression of your opinion, or even accusations (be they false or true) which could have you incarcerated.
If none of this seems to apply, take a good look at what you are doing to people around you - your attitude, the energy you are throwing into others' space. Are you imposing your will unreasonably on the world - not just the people, but the environment, plants and animals - forcing things that are not yours to dictate.

TURKEY
--GIVE-AWAY--

In Native American tradition, "Give Away" (pot latch) is the recognition of the need to sacrifice for self and others. To give one's life for the benefit of others is sacred. If any ONE lacks, NO one can be happy.
Turkey, in His feeding of man, is honored for His sacrifice of Himself for man. Turkey is the medicine of martyrs and holy men.
If you have Turkey medicine, you have gotten beyond the self and act only to benefit others, not for self-aggrandizement, but out of the realization that all life is sacred. You are probably in this life to learn that you do not stand alone in what you do. As a great medicine man from a far-away tribe once said, "That which you do to the least of mine, you do to me."
Turkey could also be telling you to release your fear of not having enough. If you have been hoarding, re-evaluate your needs. If you feel the world owes you, you better take a close look at the concept of recycling energy back to the Earth - you chose to make this life, the world owes no one anything. In fact, we should be grateful the world is providing us a place to act out our fantasies.
Or Turkey may be warning you that you are refusing to allow yourself things which are within your rights to have. But be very honest with yourself before you accept this as Turkey's message to you. You may be selecting this definition to avoid admitting to yourself that one of the others may be more appropriate.
The concept of the Give Away is not so that you may receive something better in return in the future.

TURTLE
--GROUNDING, MOTHER EARTH AND PROTECTION--

Turtle is the oldest symbol for Mother Earth. Turtle reminds us of the birth-life-death-birth cycle. Turtle reminds us to return to the earth to replace what we have used. Turtle is a reminder to ask Mother Earth for what you need, and she will provide. Turtle reminds us to respect and help keep Mother Earth healthy - clean up after yourself outdoors.
Turtle goes to the bank and digs into the ground. Are you understanding the message that you should "ground" yourself to Mother Earth, as well? Even as you stand upon Mother Earth, how could you ever think that you are alone?
Turtle's shell reminds us that protection is a good and necessary part of life. If Turtle is attacked, her shell will protect her. If the attack persists, there is nothing in her nature that precludes her attacking back. Have you felt the bite of a snapping turtle? Is Turtle trying to tell you that it is time to stop putting up with attacks from others, and time to snap back?
Turtle has a slow and steady pace, reminding us that the sun will come out tomorrow. Like the eggs Turtle buries in the sand to be incubated by the heat of the sun, Turtle reminds us to incubate our ideas before bringing them out into the light.
