RABBIT
--FEAR AND TIMIDITY--

      Legend has it that Rabbit used to be courageous. Rabbit and Eye Walker, a witch, were good friends. Rabbit demanded of EyeWalker and Eye Walker would provide. Rabbit injured Himself in a fall one day, and Eye Walker cured him with her magic. Fearing her magic Rabbit ran from her, turning His back on their friendship. For this she placed a curse on Rabbit and His tribe - from that day forward, whenever He called Fear, Fear would come.
      Now Rabbit is Fear Caller. Rabbit walks about, calling, "Eagle, I am so afraid of you." If Eagle does not respond, Rabbit shouts louder, "Eagle, stay away from me!", until Eagle hears Rabbit, comes and eats him. In this way Rabbit also calls coyotes, lynx, mountain lions, snakes and wolves until they come.
      Rabbit people are so afraid of disaster that they call Fear to them to teach them lessons.
      In New Age terms, "What you fear most, you attract."
      If Rabbit has come into your life, He is there to remind you to stop dwelling in thoughts of disaster. If you build it, it will come! For those who mingle with negative thinking people, it is hardly likely that your situation will improve if you hear from all sides continuously how bad things are. It may be time to change the people with whom you associate, or you will be unlikely to change yourself.
      If all around you is doom and gloom, there will hardly be room for miracles in your life.
      It may be time to "freeze" - stop, and take time to think about your fears, then release them, so you can go on about your way.

RACCOON
--POSSESSIONS ABOVE ALL--

      Raccoon has the primary characteristic of being the Gypsy King:

• Sly
• Deceitful
• Totally adaptable to any situation, taking any guise to reach what He sees as His "just desserts", regardless of anyone else's desserts to the contrary.
• Totally disrespectful of anyone's belongings, who isn't family...
• But totally and absolutely dedicated to the family!!! Anything anyone has is subject to being taken (stolen, if need be) and added to the family's treasure/legacy, as long as the source is not already a family asset.

      Nothing is sacred to Raccoon -- except the family.
      Like the Cosa Nostra, many oriental societal familial attitudes, and the enterprising attitudes of the Ferrengi (none of these bad in and of itself), the familial dedication of Raccon is to do what is best, most advantageous, and will bring most profit/prestige to the family.
      If Raccoon stares at you through its thief's mask, you are prompted to give serious thought to your family and the values you place on things which do not belong to you. Are you a little too envious of what others have?
      Raccoon can also be telling you to pay more attention to family matters. You may have distanced yourself from family values, and will soon find yourself standing out in the cold with no familial support - figuratively and emotionally "digging through trashcans for your next meal".
      Raccoon asks you to respect other members of your family; but Raccoon also plays people against each other to get what He wants.
      Raccoon has the mind that is in total "survival mode". Family first, "unless it threatens me, then screw the family"!
      Raccoon will survive, just as Cockroach will.

RAT
--"TERRITORY"--

      This animal is a bit interesting, since Rat doesn't want to be part of the Western Hemisphere. As so often happens, man brought Rat along in his expansion of horizons. That's not to say Rat wants to be part of that expansion. In fact, Rat rebels against expansion, desiring rather to have things "as they have always been".
      Should Rat show up, look for man/human influence in your life. If you simultaneously feel an ache on you left side, consider the female Rat is saying "You are a threat to my family and you WILL be ejected." A right-side ache is a male declaring "TERRITORY" - "Out all who would encroach!"
      If Rat appears, be ready to have your territory declared invalid. Someone thinks you have stepped over a boundary, and should withdraw into "your zone", and out of "mine". But!!! Be aware that energy is the opinion of the other person!
      It is not necessarilly Rat's right to say where your boundaries are, or when you exceeded them.
      Or, Rat could be telling you that you are trouncing someone else's space.
      It is your place to determine when to tell others to get out of your space. And it may be your place to see when you have invaded someone's space.

RAVEN
--MAGIC--

      Raven has always carried the medicine of magic. Raven, with His power to travel between this world and the Great Void, is the messenger of the Void. The Void is where the Great Mystery exists, from which emerged the Great Spirit. Raven is often asked to transport messages by shamans to and from the Void and to other locations.
      If Raven draws your attention, you might care to hang on tight... you may be in for an "E-Ticket" Ride because of the change of consciousness that is coming your way. You are about to have a glimpse into the Mysteries of the Void. Don't spend time worrying about what it means, you'll miss the full affect! Just let it happen and enjoy the ride. Then thank the Great Spirit for having given you the honor, and thank the Raven for delivering the message. Even if you don't fully understand the message that came through, you eventually will; besides, it may have been meant this way.
      Raven is a master of shape-shifting. Your glimpse into the Mysteries may be a demonstration of this talent, though you may not immediately recognize it for what it is.
      Raven is also a master of healing. Any time healing is occurring, Raven is working. "Remote healing" is a special favorite of Raven. Raven does not need to be near the body, as He can send His magic where He likes.
      If you fear Raven, it is possible you have been messing around with magic, only to have it turn on you - if not in this life, perhaps in a past one. Rather than dwelling on this negative side of the magic, recognize your lesson is about fears and home-spun demons. Once they are dealt with, the fear of Raven disappears.
      Raven may be warning if you have wished someone else harm - it may be coming back home to roost! Or you have forgotten the magic of creation!
      Raven may be warning you that you, or someone else, have put lots of energy into your space that has brought much confusion to your mind. It has taken the very strong power of Raven to cut through this fog, and get your attention; and it may take intervention by a shaman to clear this confusion so you can return to your creative ways. Thank Raven for the effort He has expended in getting through to you.

ROBIN
--CARE--

      Robin may be telling you to nurture the young around you, until they are ready to leave the nest.
      Alternately, Robin may be warning you that you are not weaning the people around you correctly. You are keeping them too dependent on you, so they cannot make decisions for themselves. Is this to satisfy an ego problem you may have?
