A Curse

      This is a life in Slovakia around 1650 AD.
      The people in this life are in the next life (Gypsy Band), as well. They are also in my current life.
      If this life, my father was a philanderer and drinker. He spent much time away from my then-mother, only coming home from the bar or his mistress when he ran out of money, or got hungry or too drunk.
      On one of his "home visits", my mother got pregnant with me.
      When he found out my mother was pregnant, he gradually changed. By the time I was born, he had decided to stay with my mother and be a family man, much to the anger of his mistress.
      The mistress got so mad about his decision that she blamed my presence for her losing him. She cursed me that, since I broke up her happiness in her relationship, I would never find happiness in a relationship.
      Several years later, mom killed dad in his sleep.
      For awhile he had been a good husband and father. But then he went back to drinking heavily, and started abusing mom, because he resented that she had gotten pregnant to try to keep him, which actually was her motive, though she had never told him.
      Later in the life, I met and fell in love with JB, but we didn't have the life together. (And, as close as I can remember, I haven't had a lasting relationship since.)

Lessons:

• The dangers of excess
• "Be careful what you ask for, you are liable to get it." My mom wanted and got him back, but it still didn't work.
• "Beware a woman scorned"
• Be prepared for the consequences of stepping into the middle of a triangle, even if asked. My mom prayed for someone to come along and help her keep her man. I came along. Maybe I should have, maybe not...

My mother: Diane.

My father: Victor, JBs first husband.

The mistress: Diana.

JB: My second wife.
