Jonathan Engdahl's Stuff
[ Home ] PlayMidiCE ] PDP-11 ]

My main site is now here at windstream.net since the Internet portion of Alltel was purchased by Windstream. The page you are looking at should be http://home.windstream.net/engdahl. Any alltel.net website or email now automatically redirects to windstream.net, so the old addresses will work, for now.

The following sites are old, are no longer updated or may forward to here, or may go away.
http://home.alltel.net/engdahl.               <-- this aliases or redirects to windstream.
http://users.adelphia.net/~j.r.engdahl    <-- this still works, but is out of date.
http://users.safeaccess.com/engdahl     <-- this site now seems to be dead

PDP-11

PDP-11's -- info on building Qbus-based PDP-11's that will run Ancient UNIX, including 2.11BSD. The info here is still good, even though I have not done much with the PDP-11's for several years, since I've been spending most of my computer playtime on:

ARM Linux
http://www.handhelds.org, I have Familiar Linux running on my iPAQ 3955.
http://www.nslu2-linux.org, for NSLU2. I am particularly interested in Debian for the IXP4xx.

Midi Player

PlayMidiCE -- a MIDI player for Windows CE, using a Roland SCP-55 PCMCIA Sound Canvas. This stuff is really old, and there may be broken links, but it may be interesting to someone so I'll leave it up.

Family

A tribute to my father: Roy Engdahl.

Old Engdahl Genealogy page which I have not been keeping up to date. In early 2005 I uploaded a more up-to-date version of the Corwin side to RootsWeb. Contact me for more current info.

I did extensive research in 2005-2006 which greatly improved the quality of my family database. From this I prepared a paper for the Engdahl Family Reunion in July 2006 which traces the Engdahl/Phillips side of my family back to early colonial Connecticut around 1650. Here is the current paper on the Engdahl Family Tree, updated July 16, 2006. (5 megabytes, in PDF format). These are the last five pages (tree diagrams) of the above document in PostScript format: tree1 tree2 tree3 tree4 tree5 .

You will need Acrobat Reader to read the PDF file. You will have to install GSview in order to view the PostScript files. The shortcut to obtaining GSview is to install ftp://mirror.cs.wisc.edu/pub/mirrors/ghost/AFPL/current/gs854w32.exe and ftp://mirror.cs.wisc.edu/pub/mirrors/ghost/ghostgum/gsv48w32.exe with all the default settings.

Here is a paper on the Corwin Family Tree. This is a snapshot of a work in progress, but even in its unfinished state is contains a lot of information. This is a large PDF document (3.5 megabytes).

Church

A more recent project is the Churchhopper's Guide to the Galaxy -- an index of churches which actually only covers Geauga County, Ohio so far. This is a by-product of my research while church-hunting during September and October of 2005.

The end result of our church hunting was our current involvement in Orwell Bible Church, a church planting project in Orwell, Ohio, about 25 minutes east of where we live in Chardon. We meet in an old school building in Windsor, OH, and are currently averaging just over 40 people every Sunday morning.

Here are some recommended websites:
    Orwell Bible Church: our church
Greener Fields: Pastor Dan Greeenfield's blog site
Religious Affections: Pastor Scott Aniol's online radio, articles about conservative Christian music.
Two Cents: Pastor Chris Anderson's blog site
