Short Biography of Linda Hallman
I am Linda Moore Hallman, the oldest daughter of Carl James and Doris Turner Moore formerly of Forsyth, Monroe County, Georgia. Since I was given an opportunity to work in the Clerk of the Superior Court’s Office, I discovered what I love doing. I now serve as a Deputy Clerk. Not only do I get to work with historical records, but also I find that I am becoming a part of our history. It just does not get better than that in this life. Not many of my friends can say that about their lives, so I feel blessed to have this kind of job.
Ed (my husband) and I moved our family to Upson County in 1975, so that our children would grow up and attend school in a rural setting. We have three grown children: Danny, Larry and Stephanie and three grandchildren.
I graduated from Mary Persons High School and have attended DeKalb Community College, Gordon College and the Flint River Technical College; along with completing extended course training in management, insurance and production techniques.
I am a member of the John Houstoun NSDAR Chapter, Thomaston, Georgia, The Cabiness UDC Chapter, Forsyth, Georgia, and The Thomaston Upson Historical Society. I enjoy spending time with family, exploring historical sites, genealogy, and writing.
I am very interested in keeping the Clerks office updated with the newest technology. Our records go back to 1825 with the forming of Upson County. Anyone tracing their property/home or court records will appreciate easy excess to the old records as well as the newer ones.
Our office maintains and processes records for the civil court, criminal court, adoptions, passports, deed transactions, surveyor's plats and notary applications for the citizens of Upson County. We provide safe storage and copies for military
records, including DD214 forms, for our veterans at no charge.
