This site is dedicated to the memory of Robert Anson Heinlein, the Grand Master of Science Fiction and to his wife Virginia Gerstenfield Heinlein.
Heinlein's works became extremely influential in my life when I encountered them first as a teenager in the 1950's. Heinlein helped shaped a great deal of my thinking and was especially beneficial in helping me to shed much of the racially bigoted view that I had inherited from my environment.
Robert left us in 1988 and Virginia just passed away on January 18,
2003. I am sorry to say that I never got to know Robert personally, but
am very proud and honored that thanks to the internet and Ginny's outgoing
personality and willingness to try new things, I was able to correspond
with her for over 2 years. I had hoped to make a trip to Atlantic Beach
this coming spring to visit her. Alas, that will never happen. I will miss
her greatly.
Information about her passing may be found
here.
The primary originally intended purpose for this page was to be a bulletin board. This purpose has proven to be unnecessary. Most of the anticipated bulletin board functions have been carried out by postings on the alt.fan.heinlein newsgroup. This has proven to be a more useful way to disseminate information among a wider group of people than could have been done here.
I have changed the name of this page as shown above to reflect the change in the purpose of this page to be a more general information page..
I still welcome any comments that you might care to post to the message board.
