The Hillcrest church of Christ is a group of Christians
working in unity to worship God, remember Christ, and show others the reason
for our hope. In an era of religious confusion, uncertainty, and turmoil
we believe, through the Bible alone, we can find the answers to all spiritual
questions.
With so many differing religious views it is difficult to
find the truth in our society. However, we believe that the word of
God, the Bible, is truth and by following it only as our guide we will
know truth. (Jn 17:17; 8:31-32) Furthermore, if the meaning of life is to
fear God and keep his commandments (Eccl 12:13) we need look no farther
then the Bible alone to find them. We believe that the Bible only makes
Christians only when we do Bible things in Bible ways and call Bible things by
Bible names.
When you visit us you will find a wholesome respect for
God’s Word as inspired by the Holy Spirit; no human creeds will be used. (Gal
1:8-9; Rev 22:18-19) Worship will be conducted in the simplicity of the
New Testament church. The lessons will be Christ centered and Bible
based. (II Tim 4:2) It is our purpose to be governed in everything we do by
the Bible alone. For this reason our worship consists only of those acts
which the New Testament reveals were performed in the worship of the early
church. We sing, pray, give, partake of the Lord’s Supper and teach
the word of God. All of this we seek to do with the attitude which Christ
enjoined when He said, “God is a Spirit; and they that worship Him must worship
in spirit and truth.” (Acts 2:42; Eph 5:19; Jn 4:24)
If you are able to visit with us you will be our honored
guest. At the close of the sermon those who wish to become Christians
will be invited to come forward and let their wishes be known.

Biographical Information:
In 2002 the
Hillcrest Church of Christ began meeting in a small office space located on the
third floor of the old Long Building. We presently meet in the home of
one of our members. While small in number we strive, with every member
pitching in, to grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ and His kingdom as well
as seek those who are lost. It is our hope and prayer that no matter the
size and/or location of our assembly we spiritually appear right and clean
before God. With His blessing and guidance we will continue to strive
forward in His service.
