Unmarked American Bowie

If you like tough early American Bowies, this is your knife! Mountain Man, Cowboy, Gold Seeker, Indian, who knows, but one of them carried this knife. It's a very very heavy knife for it's size. The knife has brass furniture, as is found on a majority of American bowies. The 7 inch blade is 1/4 inch thick (adding to the weight). Overall, the knife is 11 1/4 inches long. You can see the handle has a crack, but is solid as a rock, and there is no wiggle or movement to the blade or handle. Overall condition is rough, but it's the real deal, not like so many fakes being sold on ebay. If you are trying to collect American bowies, but can not afford them, this is your chance. If the knife was mint, you would add $1000 to the price below.

POCKET PISTOL BOWIE

Rare French "pocket" folding Bowie knife pistol. Circa 1840. Extremely rare showing only the very best French cutlery work on this piece. Much of the pistol's framework is hand engraved, and also has beautiful dark horn scales. "PARIS" is deeply stamped on the ricasso above the makers trademark. This knife pistol has the very rare, and seldom seen "ring" trigger pull, the hammer is an engraved dolphin head. The rakish folding Bowie shaped knife blade is 4-2/3rds long with fancy worked spine. An outstanding piece in excellent working, and overall condition. Wonderful untouched patina on a full blade. In many cases the French cutlers out did Sheffield cutlers on quality and condition of their product.
