About The Author

The Author

Dr. Pennal is a clinical psychologist, currently retired, who has been in private practice for over 19 years. He originally started his career intending to be a child clinical psychologist and work primarily with children. After seeing many children who were sometimes in great psychological distress, he found that he could help the children much more by working with the parents or other adults who are involved in raising the children. He currently believes that the parents can be the best therapists if they only know what to do. Before retiring, he preferred to teach parents the skills they need to be an effective influence in the lives of their little charges.
